This month, our focus is on stove ventilation and how to minimise heat loss. When temperatures drop, customers can be concerned about heat loss through a stove vent. To alleviate this, follow our simple two-step plan to minimise over venting and leave them assured of staying cosy and comfortable.
STEP ONE …
Keep over venting to a minimum by using our free online stove ventilation calculator to work out how much air the stove needs. You can find the calculator on our stove ventilation regulations pages for England & Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. The calculator is a great time-saving tool – give it a try.
STEP TWO …
Having determined the amount of air required, choose from our extensive range of LookRyt® AirCore® sets to provide effective and efficient ventilation.
For low kW stoves and appliances in older properties, there is Rytons AC3LP – a 3″ diameter mini core vent and an industry favourite for its small size and discreet appearance in the room.
For higher kW stoves and stoves fitted in properties built in or after 2008, we have several 5″ diameter core vent options. Rytons AC7LP has a high airflow through a baffled tube which further reduces light and draughts. For a greater equivalent area, Rytons AC10LP has an unrestricted tube giving over 100cm² of airflow. If you’re concerned about outside noise filtering through the vent, the Rytons Super Acoustic AAC125LP has sound absorbing properties for a more peaceful environment.
All Rytons AirCore® sets are HETAS Approved and feature the patented LookRyt® panel – a unique internal vent designed with multi-directional grilles so there is no direct airflow, reducing the risk of draughts in the room. The front panel can also be painted or wallpapered to blend in with the wall.
