Description:

Rytons Super Acoustic LookRyt® AirCore® (AAC125LP) is an acoustic combustion air ventilator that reduces noise while providing airflow through external walls.

Features and Benefits:

Retro-fitted combustion air vent for boilers, stoves and fires, designed to minimise external noise entering the building.
Helps create a more peaceful environment in noisy areas by reducing sound transfer from outside.
Unique draught reducing LookRyt® panel disperses air evenly for improved comfort and contributes to acoustic insulation.
Paint or wallpaper the panel to match room décor for a discreet appearance.
External water baffle prevents transfer of water across the cavity.
External grille U.V. stabilised to slow down the effects of sunlight.
HETAS approved for use with solid fuel appliances.

Important: This is a plastic component and is not suitable for use in the following:
a) external walls of buildings over 11m high where people sleep, whether residential, institutional or hospitality; or
b) external wall surfaces within 1m of a boundary where the building is 11m high or less, in England.

Tube: High impact polystyrene containing sound-absorbent foam lining (contains recycled plastic)
Tube (unlined): Softening point 70°C; melting point 120°C.
Foam: Flammability tested to UL94 HF-1.
Foam: Burn rate tested to FMVSS302, 4 inches min-1 (max).

LookRyt® panel: High impact styrene.
Melting point 160-180ºC (unlined).

Measurement of airborne sound insulation was made in accordance with BS EN 20140-10: 1992.
Single number quantities were calculated in accordance with BS EN ISO 717-1:1997.
Equivalent area tested to BS EN 13141-1:2004 and independently verified by the BRE.

Questions & Answers:

Will the vent reduce sound from inside to outside as well as from outside to inside?
The BRE has advised us that it’s reasonable to assume that ‘reciprocity’ applies to the vents. That is, the third octave values for sound reduction index are the same in both directions (out to in and in to out).
