PREVIEW: july FOCUS ON… Rytons Launch FlowRyt® Air Brick Extender for Restricted Sub-floor Vents

INTRODUCING

Rytons A1® FlowRyt® Air Brick Extender

We are often asked how to maintain sub-floor ventilation when existing air bricks become obstructed by patios, paving or raised ground levels. Restricted airflow beneath suspended floors can lead to moisture build-up, condensation, and timber decay, making effective ventilation essential. However, until now, there has been no simple retrofit solution.

To address this challenge, Rytons A1® FlowRyt® Air Brick Extender has been developed to raise air intake above finished ground level and help improve underfloor ventilation.

Designed for retrofit applications, the two-piece grille and back plate system can extend ventilation by up to three brick courses. Installed at existing air brick locations, it requires only minimal clearing and cutting around the air brick, helping to reduce installation time and disruption. The FlowRyt® grille design provides a high free area of 8,000mm², to help maximise ventilation to the sub-floor void.

Manufactured from A1 classified non-combustible galvanised steel, the unit offers long-term strength and durability. It is finished with a Class A2-s1, d0 powder coating and is available in three RAL colours, with additional colours available on request. Colour-matched screws are supplied for a neat finish.

Minimal preparation required

Clear away a narrow channel at the existing air brick location.

Creates a clear ventilation path

Position the back plate in front of the existing air brick to form a ventilation channel.

Raises the air intake

Fix the front grille to raise airflow and secure it in position using the colour-matched screws provided.
