Residential buildings over 18m high
For high-rise developments, sub-floor ventilators must meet the requirements of European classification A1 or A2-s1, d0. Rytons A1® Fire-Rated Periscope® Underfloor Ventilator offers a fully compliant solution. Made from non-combustible galvanised steel, this system is custom-made to suit the specific requirements of each project and is available with a choice of six compatible air brick options for design flexibility. Each air brick is also available powder-coated to A2 classification in any RAL Classic colour, providing a durable, approved finish that blends in with surrounding brickwork or cladding.
Standard residential house builds
Plastic underfloor ventilators remain a trusted option for standard low-rise residential construction. Residential buildings under 11m where external walls are within 1m of the relevant boundary
Buildings between 11 and 18 metres in height – and those under 11 metres where external walls are within 1 metre of a relevant boundary – fall into a distinct regulatory category. In these situations, metal air bricks must be specified in place of plastic to comply with fire performance standards of the external wall. Rytons offers a compliant hybrid solution: Rytons A1® Fire-rated Metal Air Brick for PUFV, in conjunction with the Rytons Periscope® Underfloor Ventilator. Manufactured from non-combustible galvanised steel, these air bricks are available in four design options and come powder-coated to A2 fire standards in any RAL Classic colour.
