Rytons A1® Fire-rated Metal Double Air Bricks
General Details
- A range of custom-made metal double air bricks.
- Manufactured from A1 classified galvanised steel.
- Three air brick styles meet different design, airflow and vent placement requirements in buildings. For cladding, flanged options cover cut edges to maintain the external appearance.
- Provide high airflows whilst maintaining low resistance.
- Supplied custom powder coated to Class A2-s1, d0. Choose from the RAL Classic colour chart in matt, semi-gloss or gloss finishes to match cladding or brickwork. Signature architectural finishes are also available.
- Built-in weather protection. Drainage holes in the air brick provide discreet water outlets, and louvred styles feature angled grilles to promote runoff, reducing the risk of water transfer into the duct.
- Brick size (rather than duct size) for easy installation using standard mortar joints for a neat appearance in brickwork.

- The external walls of high-rise relevant buildings over 18m high (11m high in Scotland).
- The external walls of relevant buildings 11m+ in height or more than 5 storeys, undergoing unsafe cladding remediation work (Building Safety Act 2022).
- The external walls of higher-risk buildings at least 18m high or with at least 7 storeys (Building Safety Act 2022).
- The external surfaces of residential purpose group buildings more than 11m high.
- The external surfaces of residential purpose group buildings 11m high or less where an external wall is within 1m of the relevant boundary.
- All other residential and non-residential buildings.

Disclaimers:
- The installation of metal air bricks alone will not satisfy the requirements of high-rise buildings which require all materials forming part of the external wall, or a specified attachment, to be made from non-combustible materials. For compliant ducting kits, see Rytons A1 Fire-rated Range.
- We do not recommend purchasing a metal air brick separately from the plenum/duct. As the components are hand made and have a size tolerance of +/- 5%, we can only guarantee compatibility between the air brick and the plenum/duct if they are manufactured and supplied as a kit.
A1 Fire Classification Explained:
- Rytons A1® Fire-rated Metal Double Air Bricks are made from galvanised steel. Galvanised steel is considered fire class A1 without testing, as per European Commission paper 96/603/EC referred to in BS EN 13501-1:2018.
- Classification: A1. Definition: Non-combustible. Description: No contribution to fire.
