Rytons A1® Fire-rated Retrofit Ducting Kits 220mm x 90mm with Double Air Bricks
General Details
- A range of custom-made metal refurbishment ducting kits compatible with 220mm x 90mm rectangular HVAC supply and extract ducting. Installed without requiring access to the apartments to avoid disrupting the occupants.
- Kits feature oversized metal ducting to encase 220mm x 90mm in-situ plastic ducting and terminate with a 50mm wide flange to aid secure fixing to the cavity board.
- Straight kits and 90° balcony kits are available to suit a variety of ductwork locations.
- Manufactured from A1 classified galvanised steel.
- Three air brick styles meet different design, airflow and vent placement requirements in buildings. For cladding, flanged options cover cut edges to maintain the external appearance.
- Air bricks maintain low resistance and have high airflows of over 90% of the free area of the duct.
- Air bricks supplied custom powder coated to Class A2-s1, d0. Choose from the RAL Classic colour chart in matt, semi-gloss or gloss finishes to match cladding or brickwork. Signature architectural finishes are also available.
- Built-in weather protection. Drainage holes in the air brick provide discreet water outlets, and louvred styles feature angled grilles to promote runoff, reducing the risk of water transfer into the duct.
- Air brick/plenum are brick size (rather than duct size) for easy installation using standard mortar joints for a neat appearance in brickwork.
- Suitable for:
- The external walls of relevant buildings 11m+ in height or more than 5 storeys, undergoing unsafe cladding remediation work (Building Safety Act 2022).
- The external walls of high-rise relevant buildings over 18m high (11m high in Scotland).
- The external walls of higher-risk buildings at least 18m high or with at least 7 storeys (Building Safety Act 2022).
- The external surfaces of residential purpose group buildings more than 11m high.
- The external surfaces of residential purpose group buildings 11m high or less where an external wall is within 1m of the relevant boundary.

- Telescopic fitting air brick allows the overall length of the ducting kit to be extended during installation, providing flexibility to accommodate minor variations in the external façade.
- Supplied ready to install with no on-site assembly required.
- Duct factory fitted to the plenum adaptor.
- No screw fixing or sealing needed, saving time and labour and ensuring correct alignment and airtight joints.
A1 Fire Classification Explained:
- Rytons A1® Fire-rated Retrofit Ducting Kits 220mm x 90mm with Double Air Bricks are made from galvanised steel. Galvanised steel is considered fire class A1 without testing, as per European Commission paper 96/603/EC referred to in BS EN 13501-1:2018.
- Classification: A1. Definition: Non-combustible. Description: No contribution to fire.
